The Rocking Horse Courtyard and Cafe

Northumberland’s Leading Cafe*

The Rocking Horse Cafe "The Rocky!"

Open 7 days a week 10am to 5pm (10am to 4pm in winter). Our mantra is to use as much Northumberland produce as possible. We have reached out to farmers and suppliers to find the tastiest, freshest items for a menu that showcases regional excellence. The all-day breakfast stottie, a giant bun packed with super indulgent goodies – bacon, sausage and  free range eggs – is the lynchpin. Everything is cooked fresh to order while guests relax over speciality coffee roasted on Holy Island. More

The Rocking Chair Farmhouse

The upper floor of the original estate farmhouse has been converted into accommodation for up to six people in three double bedrooms, one en suite, two sharing a bathroom. Out of respect for guests’ privacy, we never part-rent to individuals or couples. Dogs are welcome and there is a television room where the extended group can relax and socialise. More

Shop

In 2021 we opened a new shop within the Rocking Horse Cafe farmhouse, to compliment our little produce shop in the cafe (we are a member of the ‘Produced in Northumberland’ scheme). We have a selection of gifts, collectables, pictures and items
for the home.

For The Love of Northumberland (FTLN)

We have created this section of the website to help local residents and tourists alike make the most of what this great county has to offer. Our aim is to bring awareness of the suppliers and manufacturers of produce and products that are used or stocked at the Rocking Horse Courtyard and Cafe. In addition, we know that Northumberland will attract many more visitors over the coming years and so we thought that it may help if we created a summary of local interests and tourist attractions.
